VISITOR GUIDELINES UPDATE

Visitors are no longer required to wear a face mask when visiting unless you wish to do so. Please ask for a mask if you require one.
We would still ask you to book your visits in advance and sign the visitors book on arrival and departure. This is to ensure effect traceability if we were to have outbreak.
Please do not visit if you feel unwell, have any of the symptoms associated with Covid 19, or a respiratory infection, or Norovirus
A mask, visor, gloves, and apron should be worn if you are visiting someone who is thought or known to be positive / symptomatic.
Good hand hygiene must be always practiced before and after your visit.
Relatives
Visits will need to be booked for a specific day(can call the same day), time and length of visit, to enable the resident to be ready. Visitors must check in with the care provider on the day just in case the situation in the care setting has changed. Protected meal times 8am-0900, 11.45- 13.15 and 16.45-17.30
EOL cases have no restrictions, and these arrangements will be made directly with the nurse in charge and are assessed individually. You will be asked to wait in the corridor whilst personal care is being delivered to minimise the amount of people in the room and maintain dignity.
Visiting professionals
Continue to book slots so we can ensure we have enough facilities to accommodate all appointments in the diary.
Face masks are optional unless symptomatic of cold symptoms
Range of responsibilities that visitors must abide by prior to and during any visit.
Book visits in advance for a specific day, time, avoiding mealtimes as these are protected.
Check in with the Care Home on the day prior to their visit, to ensure the situation in the service has not changed.
The visitor is not to be unwell on the day of their visits,
Comply with the infection prevention and control measures, mandatory hand hygiene, the use of PPE and social distancing requirements, remaining in the designated visiting areas when required.
All residents in our home are either highly vulnerable so if recently recovered from covid or respiratory illness and are symptom free you must still wear a Mask up until the 10th day.
Utilise the PPE provided and follow the hand hygiene guidance – (donning PPE) wash hands put on apron and mask, then wash hands again and then gloves - doffing PPE in reverse and disposing in the foot operated bin provided. (see appendix 2). Instructions for this will be displayed next to the hand washing sink in the designated visiting area.
Visitors should have no contact with other residents - Where needed, conversations with staff can be arranged over the phone following an in-person visit. Or ask to speak to the Nurse in charge when you visit, and they will attend the bedroom or visitors room where it is booked.
Face times can be arranged by contacting the home to request for this to be set up.
Visitors to ensure the home have the most current contact details
Whilst there is no restriction on the number of visitors as such, we will still ensure that the bedrooms and visitors’ rooms are not overcrowded so 2-3 in bedroom and any larger groups can book the visitors room, we will not be allowing visits in the communal areas.
The nurse will contact the first next of kin only not all family members with an update if there is anything significant to report – otherwise feel free to enquire via phone and ask for the NIC 01902 653500 option 2 or 3. If there are any concerns press option 1 for management.
Residents may be accompanied out by: A member of care home staff or visitors. Arrangements will need to be discussed with the nurses in advance of the trip.
Resident will be escorted to hospital with staff but if needed family members may be asked to replace staff if appropriate or if the staff have to be changed and the family do not wish to fund the taxi fare to swap the staff
Please be mindful we have to manage all the people in the building in the event of a fire and we have to be able to estimate how many is in the building at any one time. Safety is the prime objective
